Overview

The Basic Pistol, Shotgun and Rifle Shooting course is about 10 to14 hours long. During that time, the student will learn the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for owning and using a firearm safely.

The course teaches the students about firearm parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety and shooting fundamentals.

Shooting exercises will include various shooting positions, such as bench rest, standing, one handed and two handed. As a part of the shooting experience, the student will learn about care and cleaning necessary for handguns.

Topics such as basic guideline for purchasing a pistol, shotgun or rifle legally transporting it to and from the range or field, and safe home storage are also discussed.

Attractive certificates are awarded to participants who successfully complete each basic course.
